Jo-Anne's Background and Expertise
Having initially worked as a planning and development surveyor since 1998, in 2001 Jo-Anne gained a masters in town planning and became a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute in 2003. After working in a variety of senior roles in the public sector, Jo-Anne decided to establish her own business in 2016.
Prior to establishing the business, Jo-Anne led the strategic planning and housing service of Northumberland County Council, and before that, she was head of planning, conservation and communities at Northumberland National Park Authority. Jo-Anne has also worked on regional planning whilst at the North East Assembly, urban planning at Gateshead Council and also in development management at Wear Valley District Council.
In addition to having established contacts with senior officers within northeast local authorities, Jo-Anne has close associations with a full range of technical specialists, including architects, ecologists, historic environment professions and transport consultants. Therefore, if a project requires expertise in a particular area that she does not have, she can assist in identifying a suitable specialist and work closely with them.
Away from work, Jo-Anne is kept busy with her horse-mad daughter and two dogs!
