Established in 2016, Jo-Anne Garrick Ltd is an independent planning consultancy based in North East England.
Having initially worked as a Planning and Development Surveyor since 1998, in 2001 Jo-Anne gained a Masters in Town Planning and became a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute in 2003.
Jo-Anne has significant experience in a variety of senior planning roles in a range of public sector organisations and more recently in the private sector. Until late 2015 Jo-Anne led the Strategic Planning and Housing Service of Northumberland County Council, and prior to that she was Head of Planning Conservation and Communities at Northumberland National Park Authority. Jo-Anne has also worked on regional planning whilst at the North East Assembly, urban planning at Gateshead Council and also in Development Management at Wear Valley District Council.
As a result of Jo-Anne’s extensive experience she is able to provide specialist advice on a wide range of planning and development issues. Jo-Anne supports and guides clients through the complexity of local and national planning requirements.
In addition to having established contacts with senior officers within North East Local Authorities Jo-Anne has close associations with a full range of technical specialists, including: architects, ecologists, historic environment professions and transport consultants. Therefore if a project requires expertise in a particular area that she does not have, she can assist in identifying a suitable specialist and work closely with them.
